Mills Cannot Halt Campaign for President Mills
Washington AP Rep Wilbur Mills says he cannot stop friends from nominating him for the Democratic presidential bid. He appeared on Meet the Press and noted no chance the Nixon administration will compromise on the program. Mills, Ways and Means chair since 1968, will likely vote to keep the measure bottled up and will not pursue a presidential nomination. He also doubted a run for vice president. He has toured the country opposing Nixon’s revenue sharing plan.
