Taft aide charged in Florida coin deal probe
Former Taft top aide Brian Hicks faces a charge for failing to report stays at a Florida coin dealer’s home during 2002 and 2003 while his executive assistant Cherie Carroll is charged with improperly receiving meals from Noe. The case ties to the Ohio rare coin investment scandal enveloping state government and Noe. Hicks, 40, Taft’s longtime right hand, could plead, as Taft faces separate ethics scrutiny over golf outing disclosures and executive privilege disputes.
