Eight locals indicted on drug charges in cross state probe
A joint federal state and local investigation began seven months ago and has resulted in 18 arrests including eight Middletown residents and a Monroe suspect on conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine crack cocaine and marijuana. Indictments target the Dodge City Crips gang with federal, state, and local cases filed in the Southern District of Ohio. Suspects are jailed without bail. Middletown police initiated the probe in January.

Beating leads to arrest as victim fights for life
Middletown man remains in critical condition after a Wednesday assault at a North Grimes Street residence. Gordy Pieratt, 61, was arrested on felony felonious assault charges after officers found him nearby and in possession of a warrant. Police say Pieratt admitted involvement but detectives continue interviews and search the home for evidence. A contrasting account from Sarah Pieratt alleges Grubbs caused the disturbance after drinking.
