Where To Put New Jail In Hamilton Court Square
Proposals to place the Butler County jail on Courthouse Square generate mixed views. Officials discuss a three story jail at the west end of the courthouse as the first phase of a county building complex, with possible future expansion and a removed old courthouse. Proposals include a direct link to the courthouse and expanding office space, while some favor keeping the jail separate. County leaders weigh voter expectations and future office needs as they consider site options.
