Ohio veterans bonus deadline set for year end
The Ohio Vietnam Era Veterans Bonus Commission warns no applications will be accepted after December 31 as the bonus expires. About 364,000 of the 500,000 eligible veterans have applied. Director Randall Sweeney urges timely submissions due to expected year end volume. Eligibility requires Ohio residency, Vietnam service window or 90 days served within dates, and honorable discharge. In Butler County, 6,303 claims had been filed by June totaling over $2 million paid.
