John F. Niebel superintendent of the Ohio State Reformatory Farm at Mansfield his wife and 21 year old daughter were among seven victims of a brutal triple murder near Mansfield. John C West one of the killers was shot at a road block while his companion Robert M Daniels admitted all seven slayings. Both men were former reformatory inmates and apparently killed the head and his family in revenge for fancied wrongs.
