Kent State University students are camped 50 miles north of Nicosia on an archeological expedition in Cyprus. They have not been heard from and a mother says the family is very concerned. The report appears on page 3.
Invading Turkish troops fast captured a 10 mile corridor from the north coast to Nicosia amid heavy fighting. U N Secretary General Waldheim urged a cease fire as waves of Turkish airborne troops landed, while U S sources said reinforcements remained limited and the Turkish force numbered about 5 000.

Special Counsel John Doar told the House Judiciary Committee the impeachment case is substantial and persuasive. Rep. Government economists forecast an 8 percent GDP gain and 7 percent inflation for the year. So far the first half shows a 6 percent GDP rise and about 10 percent annualized inflation. Unemployment remains under 5.5 percent, with real output declining after inflation. The early-year forecast predicted no long or severe slowdown.
