North Korea calls copter attack an unhappy incident

North Korea denounced the downing of a U S Army CH47 helicopter as an unhappy incident saying its forces fired after the crew refused warnings while trying to flee. Four crewmen on the aircraft were identified and three were killed with one wounded. The incident occurred inside North Korean territory near the DMZ after the helicopter wandered about 30 miles from Pyong Taek toward Pangnung. The U N Command and U S officials discussed return of the wounded and bodies amid warnings to avoid escalation.
