Middletown Ohio City Planning Commission schedules a July 16 1975 public hearing at 7 30 P M to consider Adam Cristo request for Professional East an 46 office units on 4 03 acres in 8 buildings. Site is Breie Boulevard west of Central Avenue north of Rosedale Road in a P11 zone. All interested urged to attend. Robert A Metz acting secretary July 8 15.

Patricia Moore was elected president of the John XXIII Elementary School board for the 1975 76 year at last night’s meeting. New officers include Dr. Omer Hurlburt as vice chairman John Herr as secretary and James Kraft as treasurer. Members listed are Ray Barger Rev Stephen Calme Mrs Hobart Chase Rev Paul Galvin Tim Gough Robert Nunlist Rev Albert Schetter Bill Uhl and Sister Josetta Weidner.
Versa Whitt and Judy Sizer received treatment at Middletown Hospital after a collision on Central Avenue at Carmody Boulevard. Whitt and Sizer rode with Earl Whitt as his car was rear ended by John Miller, who faces a charge of failure to maintain an assured clear distance. Vehicle damages were estimated at 400 dollars for the Whitt car and 500 dollars for the Miller vehicle.
President Ford widens lead over Senator Edward Kennedy among 1,303 likely voters with a 50 to 42 percent favorite share in June. Kennedy, who has said he will not run, lagged behind in May and April as Ford rides high on public approval of the Mayaguez actions.
A passing motorist doused cardboard in a garage window at 600 S Main St to start a fire but failed. A cassette recorder worth 100 was stolen from Helen Gorski at 19 N Sutphin St. Vandals removed gas from Harold Fitzwater’s motorcycle at 2015 S Verity Pkwy. A purse with cards and 80 dollars vanished from Josephine Perkins’ car at 1959 Central Ave. Welfare checks totaling over 700 are missing, with other missing checks listed for Linda Reed, Ruth Poe, and Mrs Roy Murbach.
Coast Guard units conducted a three hour search for a helicopter reported down in Lake Michigan near Indiana Harbor Chicago. An unidentified boater notified authorities around 10 p m Monday claiming the craft went down about one mile off shore amid fireworks over the lake with officials not elaborating on the incident.
Ohio Board of Regents said applications for instructional grants for the 1975 76 academic year are due by August 8 1975. About 39 000 students have received roughly 18.8 million dollars for the coming year and 13 000 to 14 000 further awards are expected between July 1 and the deadline. Grants cover tuition with ranges 90 to 600 for public colleges and 150 to 1 500 for private nonprofit colleges.
Hamilton James E Paulus executive director of the Alcoholism Council of Butler County is appointed to the Commission of Human Relations. Paulus will assist director Nathanie Sherman and chairman James Leipzig on the education committee. Mayor Frank Witt announced the City Council’s unanimous confirmation.
In Rota near Bergamo, Italy, a hotel blaze killed two people and injured ten. Police said the fire began in the kitchen, likely from a short circuit, and the wooden hotel, holding about 40 guests, was destroyed with victims leaping from upper floors to escape.
John Webb owner of Webb's Pool Room on Michigan Avenue and Yankee Road says a cutting incident story is false since the hall was closed from July 5 until July 8. Ronald Whiteman, 28, of 1728 Central Ave., told police he was cut on the arm during an argument over a pool game.

A car owned by Greg Hagan of Middletown sustained about 100 dollars in damage when a carburetor flooded and ignited last night on Ohio 122 near Elk Creek Road. Firemen from Lou Madison Township responded to the blaze affecting the hood area.
Former Rep. Lawrence G. Williams a four term Republican from Delaware County dies at 61 from cancer. Williams first won election to Congress in 1966 representing Pennsylvania seventh district.
