Ford delays presenting a plan to lift oil price ceilings while Apollo Soyuz mission proceeds. Leonov and Kubasov launch from Baikonur 1400 miles southeast of Moscow, Stafford, Brand, Slayton chase in orbit, then dock 12:15 p.m. Thursday over West Germany as political debate continues in Washington.
Carlisle, Pa. farmer Robert Bear says he was excommunicated after speaking against Reform Mennonite doctrine and has been shunned by his church and family. He seeks access to his wife and six children, pressed by a Cumberland County case to rule if shunning violated constitution. Bear hopes the courts decide, enabling reunion.
