Fire destroys historic Loew's Grand Theater in Atlanta
Flames roared through the 86 year old Loew's Grand Theater injuring top floors and forcing evacuations at the Continental Insurance Building next door. Spectators watched as Dr Richard Freeman and his office manager were pulled to safety from a sixth floor window by a firefighter ladder. The building began as the DeGive Opera House in 1892 and had hosted premieres and notable performers.

Trenton man given suspended sentence in sexual offense case
