Sabre Computer System Wins County Purchase Approval
Butler County commissioners unanimously approved buying the Sabre Computer System for 429,860 from Dayton firm Sabre. County data processing chief McCarty defended the choice, rebutting claims that a lower bid by Computer Systems and Services was cheaper once software, maintenance, and bond costs are included, citing Sabre as faster with greater expansion and degraded-mode operation. Several firms urged delays for presentations, but commissioners declined, noting McCarty’s recommendation served the county’s best interests.
