Hospital group denies conspiracy in Middletown suit
Middletown Hospital Association officials in US District Court Cincinnati deny a $1 million damage claim that they conspired to limit primary care doctors. The suit by Dr Jeffrey S. Zollett and his father alleges 78 physicians, dentists and trustees blocked staff privileges. Attorneys say the hospital, a private nonprofit, can set standards and deny staff, while federal jurisdiction via Sherman Act is disputed and administrative remedies may have been exhausted.
