Zone Swap Rejected for Sutphin Street Site
City planners voted not to recommend changing the Dillman's Market site on Sutphin Street from h-2 to B-1 zoning. Attorney Ben M Kitchen for owner Sarah Snethen argued a condition change in the neighborhood, noting the building housed a grocery for 36 years. Planners cited surrounding residences, small lot size, lack of off street parking, and master plan guidance, though the site may remain a non conforming business with board approval. They also agreed to open Belvidere Avenue onto S Verity Parkway with costs borne by interested parties, prioritizing other street projects and neighborhood business needs.
