Franklin Starts New Water Tank Increases City Storage
Franklin City Council approved a $350,000 project to build a new million-gallon water tank on Fourth Street hill near the American Legion hall. The elevated tank will boost pressure, supplement a 50-year-old three-tank system, and avoid river crossings by the Great Miami River. The project, funded within existing rates, is expected to be completed by summer and aid fire protection and growth. The city also formed a merchant police patrol, updated the electrical code, annexed 12 acres on East Second Street, and reappointed Civil Service and electrical board members.
