Environmental Products sees little impact from E-Check exit

Environmental Products Holding Inc. based in Dayton area with Envirotest units in Ohio and abroad says loss of some emissions inspection business will not hurt its 28 year old firm. The company tests 27 million vehicles yearly across 12 000 facilities and employs 3000 with offices in Canada China Germany Hong Kong Japan India Turkey and Mexico. Ohio operations are part of its centralized E Check program with stations owned by Envirotest and serving 44 locations across 14 counties including Butler County. EPA guidance to end the Dayton and Cincinnati area E Check program may leave stations vacant while Envirotest oversees ownership and future plans remain undecided.
