Bar Mitzvah Gifts Invested For Education In Stocks
Reader asks how to invest $2,000 from a Bar Mitzvah gift for college. Roger Spear recommends a growth approach with two picks: Consolidated Foods, maker of Kitchen of Sara Lee and Monarch, and Texas Utilities, a rising Dallas area utility with a strong growth record. He notes Atlas Credit listed on the NYSE August 7, citing solid long term growth but a weak technical pattern and a low earnings multiple around 10 for fiscal 1964. He advises holding Atlas Credit despite the rating.
