Ohio Legislature reshapes game for 106th General Assembly
The 105th General Assembly closes as the 106th opens January 4 with new players. Senator Theodore Gray will replace defeated Sen. C. Stanley Mechem as Senate leader while Lt. Gov. John W. Brown could cast pivotal votes in a newly divided Senate. Democrats challenge a GOP bid to control the chamber as court tests loom over a power-shift bill. Senate confirms trustees for Cleveland State University and the Toledo State College of Medicine, with two Cleveland lawmakers awaiting a year before taking seats.
