California Storms Trigger Mudslides and Fatalities
A powerful California storm caused mudslides and power outages as it battered the state for a second day. Flooding closed freeways and desert roads, while a rockslide blocked Highway 1 on the central coast. Two deaths were reported, one at Montara State Beach and another in a north Los Angeles crash. Downtown Los Angeles recorded 3.98 inches of rain, with more heavy weather expected as a stronger system neared northern California.
