Warren County will levy a total tax rate of 3.80 per thousand, unchanged, with most township rates for 1972 to 1973 showing decreases or small gains. County auditor Leslie Spaeth announced the new rates, listing each township and local district alongside the prior figures.
Five Arab attackers seized the Israeli embassy in Bangkok and held six hostages. After a nine hour standoff Thai police and army surrounded the building while negotiations with Pan American World Airways and Egypt aimed for safe conduct out of Thailand. EPA ordered major gas stations to offer at least one grade of 91 octane or better virtually lead free by July 1 1974 with a lead limit of 0.05 grams per gallon and phosphorous cap of 0.005 grams per gallon.
