Catholic Enquiry Center shifts appeal to modern Britain
In Hampstead since 1954 the Catholic Enquiry Center adapts its outreach with contemporary language and fewer booklets. About 25 000 mailings yearly yield 1 000 converts, while 46 percent of respondents are aged 18 to 25, prompting a revised eleven booklet series and more scriptural, ecumenical content. Fathers O'Brien discuss youth skepticism and the center's ongoing experimentation. They note fond memories of Radio Caroline and Radio London as useful allies in reaching audiences.
