It's Not For The Birds A Scientific Census Index
More than 15000 Americans will pay a fee to participate in the 69th annual Christmas Bird Count under the National Audubon Society and U S Fish and Wildlife Service. The count runs December 20 to January 1 and provides a scientific index of bird declines and range shifts with results published in Audubon Field Notes. Last year 532 species wintered in North America with wide regional variation.
