Supreme Court blocks OxyContin class action in Ohio

The Ohio Supreme Court reversed a lower court and blocked a class action against Purdue and Abbott over OxyContin warnings. Howland and four Butler County residents led the suit, which would have covered more than 1,000 Ohio consumers if certified. The decision splits 4-3 with Justices finding the trial judge erred in granting class status and failing to consider a relevant federal precedent.
