One House Stands but Not for Long on Monroe Street
A solitary gray house at 312 Monroe St. remains as all surrounding properties in the area bounded by Monroe, Flemming Road, Miami Avenue and University Boulevard have been leveled for a planned Miami Avenue extension. City officials say the last house will be razed after estate related legal actions and contacting numerous relatives are completed. John Garrison owns half the property and a purchase price has been agreed, but other heirs require routine litigation to proceed. The house, facing Miami Park, will stand alone until then.
