John Elam, city sanitation head, calls Lebanon's plastic bag distribution a great success after a year in operation. The green bags replace metal cans, speed pickups to three quarters of prior time, and reduce spillage, aiding a future one-man side-loader truck plan.
SPRINGBORO children from the Mary Haven Children's Home in Lebanon will join the Springboro Lions Club for a dinner and Christmas party on Monday December 18 in the high school cafeteria. A magician and a volunteer chorus will entertain.
The Madison Junior and Senior High Schools present a Christmas Choral Concert on December 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school gym featuring the Senior Choir Junior Choir and Hush Puppies with several ensembles. A second concert by the bands follows December 19 at 8:30 p.m. both events free and open to the public.
Miami Valley plans convert the Vid Mill Stream site near Waynesville into a 250000 dollar Three Centuries Swim Club by early spring 1973. The project includes a mile of Little Miami River waterway for canoeing and Heritage Square with Colonial shops a Harbor Restaurant and a refurbished 150 year old grist mill as a two story clubhouse. An 18th century Tumbleweed Territory and Ghost Town ranch zoo miniature golf are part of the 50 acre development aimed at health and relaxation with a relocated entrance.
Carlisle society for Handicapped Children reports donations surpassing $2000 as three week drive continues through Jan 31. Plans for a new east Fairview Drive center to add residential care are underway. Donations may be mailed to Mrs. Mary Lou Kelly, Carlisle Ohio 45005. Dayton fundraising event at Dayton Mall Sunday features International Broadcasting School students collecting coins at 3 p.m. Volunteers urged to contribute at least one day weekly.
