Comet Kohoutek Visible as Solar System Leftovers
Astronomers describe Kohoutek as built from primordial solar material and dust, ice, and gases. They estimate 100 billion such comets roaming the solar system, with Kohoutek possibly 10 to 20 miles across and its tail stretching up to 100 million miles as it nears the sun. Three Americans aboard Skylab will study the event.
