W H Heck Harkins of Stockport Ohio enjoyed a pipe but the pipe fired back when he lit it while watching a football game. He had kept the pipe with .22 ammunition in the same pocket and a small bullet apparently lodged upright in the bowl. His wife warned him about smoking near the ammo.

In Perth Amboy New Jersey a 1972 U S Priority Mail package arrived this holiday season sent by Edward Borkowski a former Army sergeant in Vietnam. The box contained a framed photo of him with his wife and their three children. It was delivered by a city mailman to Mildred Borkowski, his mother, after traveling through California and Kentucky.
