Middletown Federal to Start Computerized Teller Service
Middletown Federal Savings and Loan will begin computerized teller service in mid January. The bank contracted with Burroughs Corporation and Travcom Inc for online data processing with terminals at the main office and Trenton, enabling near immediate access to customer accounts from a Cincinnati data center. The rollout costs about $10 000 per terminal and aims to cut service time by up to half while maintaining the same headcount. Training will be minimal and ledger records will shift from paper to electronic ledger cards over 60 to 90 days.

Old Camden barn of Crowes burned. pigs perish
A 101 year old Barn owned by Mr and Mrs Olimer Crowe near Camden on Ohio 127 was destroyed by fire. Mrs Crowe said the blaze began early Saturday morning. Thirty three pigs were killed along with a manure spreader and small hand equipment. Fire likely started from defective wiring.
