A Cleveland area woman reports annual Workmen's Compensation checks sent to her deceased father, Dr. Arthur F. McQueen, still arrive at his Amherst office and are forwarded to her. Officials say no record of his receiving such payments exists and continue investigating the computerized system.
Betty Ford joined a school for ballet in Peking where she learned a Chinese folk dance then improvised a closing move with a head back and arms out, a gesture described as more American Indian rain dance than Chinese ballet. The report notes her husband’s reaction and the lighthearted nature of the performance.
President Ford and China's acting premier Teng Hsiao-ping held a wide ranging 22 hour session on international issues during Ford's five day visit. Mao Tse-tung greeted Ford with his wife and daughter and hosted an earlier 15 minute exchange.

Police in Oakand Park Florida search for four restaurant employees who disappeared from a supper club. The four identified are Joseph P McCartney 29 manager Gail Rieckmann 35 bookkeeper Marrian Haston 31 and Neata Harvard 27 maids. No ransom demands or sign of a struggle found. Detectives say robbery abduction possible but unconfirmed.
Evansville police report three more killings in seven days. Victims include 19 year olds Joseph Edwards and Phyllis McCowen found by the father in an apartment and 79 year old Clara Vickery bludgeoned in a garage. Investigations continue.
