West Virginia launched free ferry service across the Ohio River from Point Pleasant to Kanauga to keep U.S. 35 traffic moving while the Silver Memorial Bridge remains closed. Two ferries operate 24 hours a day as an inspection flagged weld cracks in the eight year old bridge superstructure.
The City Commission of Middletown Ohio adopts an emergency ordinance to proceed with street improvements on Vannest Avenue from Manchester Road centerline to Lot 12500, Manchester Road from CCC and ST LRR easterly right of way to Manchester Road, Sunset Street, and Fisher Avenue. Plan includes grading, graveling, bituminous surface, concrete curbs and gutters, storm sewers, valves, hydrants, and appurtenances per plans on file.
