Franklin Township builds new fire station strengthens agency use
A Blue Ball area fire station in Franklin Township is heavily used by multiple agencies. The Hunter fire department moved equipment there, deputies used the building for an interrogation, and the trustees approved use by the highway patrol for breath tests. Dedication is planned for September with the Blue Ball Historical Society. Trustees also adjusted salaries, discussed base radio, and prepared for adoption of a fire code.

City Centre Mart eyes shopping bazaar under garage project
City Centre Mart manager Joe Powers told a Middletown Rotary audience that a mini shopping bazaar under the multilevel parking garage may still happen. The plan, proposed two years ago by Woodbury Corp, evolved with Chelsea Moore Inc. of Cincinnati as successor. Powers cited Gallery 28 revival as progress and said March could see work begin. He noted commitments from Swallen's to open a unit, Readmore News expansion, and other downtown developments, while stressing the area remains a learning retail scene.
