Ohio tax dollars heavily favor education in 1968
Ohio state auditors show 54 cents of every general revenue dollar funded education in the 1968 fiscal year. Total receipts were 2.551 billion and expenditures 2.587 billion, with education receiving 434 million for schools and 148 million for colleges. Welfare rose to 291 million, and sales tax remained the main revenue source at 44 cents per dollar.
