Evansville crash report disputed by charter firm president
Elliott Martin, operations manager for National Jet Services, disputes the NTSB finding that the DC-3 crash that killed the Evansville University basketball team was caused by leaving external control locks on the rudder and right aileron. He says no witness saw locks installed, and the plane’s tail heavy loading also contributed to the crash. The NTSB cited haste in loading as a factor. 29 people died including 14 team members.
