An aerial object struck the 175 foot vessel Pacific Seas during a sea test near Santa Barbara as Sidewinder missiles were fired. Three crew members were injured, two seriously, and evacuated to Pt. Mugu. A Coast Guard cutter aided the afloat ship five miles south of Santa Rosa Island. A Navy inquiry board will investigate.
