In Columbus Ohio Frank Shelton executive director says the Ohio Highway Transportation Research Center might cost up to 200 million over time, up from an initial 30 million estimate by OSU researchers Robert Tait and Johannes Schwar. The project expands from 5 000 to 8 100 acres near East Liberty, adding a wind tunnel and environmental test facilities while shifting focus to the ecology of transportation. The center aims to open in early 1973 with full customer scheduling and seeks federal funding as evaluators review its fit in the national program.
