Ohio Officials Expect Limited Cost Impact From Coal Burn Rule
The Federal Energy Administration orders require new plants to burn coal only, affecting 30 plants in 17 states including Ohio. Ohio plants facing the change include facilities owned by City of Painesville Cincinnati Gas & Electric and Dayton Power & Light. EPA officials say costs should fall on coastal consumers while Ohio impact remains minor and switch could take three to four years.
