A winter storm formed in the northern Rockies bringing light snow from Wyoming to the Black Hills of South Dakota while rain mixed at lower elevations. Gusty, near 80 mph winds threatened northern California as storm warnings and flood advisories spread. Temperatures varied from 25 in Sault Ste. Marie to 73 in Brownsville and Corpus Christi.

Armco promotes Oellerich to assistant general manager
Herman J. Oellerich is named assistant general manager of Armco Eurotec effective tomorrow, per WS. Rose, Armco Steel Corp. International Division president. Oellerich, 145 Deneen Ave., Monroe, will move to Voerde Germany to join Armco Eurotec, which markets Armco metal buildings in the European common market. He has been national accounts manager for Armco building systems and joined Armco in 1953 as office engineer, with past posts in Florida and Indiana before a 1970 transfer to corporate headquarters.

Vandals spray Madison High School with bias graffiti
Deputies report Madison High School at 1368 Middletown Eaton Road vandalized over the weekend. Spray paint covered sidewalks portions of the building and a school bus with descriptive words and biases. Break in occurred with items taken and total damage not yet determined.
