Canton teacher wins Kennedy Scholarship
Canton South High School English teacher Michael Labriola Jr won the 1976 John F. Kennedy Scholarship from the Ohio Education Association. He teaches 10th and 12th grade English and was chosen from 85 applicants for the $1,000 award established in 1963 to support teachers pursuing advanced degrees. U.S. troops arrived in the Dominican Republic to quell an alleged revolution.
