SAIGON AP reports a U S Air Force F111 fighter bomber crashed Monday night while en route to a bombing mission against North Vietnam. The command said it was believed to have gone down somewhere in Thailand with two crewmen unaccounted for. this marks the third F111 crash in Vietnam since March.
Hershey told a House subcommittee that the draft may reach 297000 next year if the Vietnam War continues, with 240000 figures used only as a baseline. The Defense Department asked for 285000 inductions this year, but 345000 have already been taken, and 240000 is a reference point for 1969 needs.
Six heart specialists outperformed a computer in a test of cardiographs from three patients at the Inter-American Congress of Cardiology in Lima. The first case favored doctors, the next two ended in ties. The computer provided faster diagnoses but with less detail.

He cites totals of 122 destroyed by ground fire and 590 damaged in 1966 67, with Tet losses highlighting the need for shelters as the Pentagon weighs 60 steel and concrete facilities for NATO bases in Europe.
In Ben Luc, Vietnam, a South Vietnamese farmer Huynh Van Biet and his wife hid and cared for wounded Spec. 4 Van Snapp of Knoxville, Tenn., after his squad came under heavy fire a few hundred yards away. Snapp survived after a night of exposure and blood loss as Viet Cong forces withdrew at daybreak.
The forecast for Southwest Ohio and the Miami Valley calls for mostly cloudy skies and cooler conditions with showers ending later tonight. Highs reach the 70s to 80s, and the low tonight dips to 45 degrees. Wednesday brings partly cloudy skies with highs again in the 70s to 80s.

The group recommends emergency food programs in 256 counties free food stamps and reform of farm aid. Co chairs are Benjamin E Mays and Leslie W Dunbar. Georgia hosts 47 of the affected counties.
