In Benghazi Libya three hijackers freed 12 airline staff including VP Raphael Igoa and disembarked a Philippine Airlines jet after Libyan officials promised asylum for the hijackers. The seventh day standoff ended as authorities relented and allowed the plane to depart for Rome with released crew.

AURORA Ind AP a bridge worker fell into the Ohio River Tuesday afternoon while working on the 1 275 Bridge near Aurora Ferry and the body has not yet been found. The victim remains unidentified as search continues.
