Survey shows child abuse affects millions nationwide
University of Rhode Island researcher Dr. Richard J. Gelles told a Senate subcommittee that up to 2.2 million children ages 3 to 17 are beaten by parents and as many as 1.4 million face threats with a gun or knife.
