Residents signed a petition to amend the village charter authorizing trustees to require railroads to station flagmen at the most dangerous crossings. Rev Mr Gunning concludes his course for young people tomorrow evening with a sermon titled Safe at Home. The article notes that from the Church of England receipts of over ten million pounds, about three and a half million goes to 1,900 clergy including bishops choristers and lay officers.
