The Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters Provisional Committee for the Organization of Colored Locomotive Firemen held its 16th Annual Conference in Washington DC May 17 and 18 at the YWCA. Delegates from major southern railroads urged opening top railway jobs to qualified Negroes and urged youths 21 to 30 to register for postwar employment opportunities.

Roberts joins Chicago Urban League as services specialist
