AKA Sorority Board Talks Haven School Unit Plan
On November 27 a committee of Alpha Kappa members met Haven School executive board at the Physicians Building North Bayshore Drive to discuss creating a Haven School unit for Negro children. Haven School supports mentally handicapped youths, with upkeep estimated at 150 to 200 dollars monthly per child and initial costs projected near 75 thousand dollars. Both groups will explore facilities at Gainesville Farm Colony for Negro children while planning future meetings for a training oriented program.
