YMCA Camp Draws About One Hundred Boys
Approximately 100 boys will attend the annual YMCA camp at Lake Placid this summer. Activities run Saturday August 10 through Saturday August 17 with a focus on wholesome recreation and Christian leadership. More than $1,000 in contributions and scholarships support the project. Moses Perry directs YMCA staff and activities. four special charters depart from the Youth Center at 9 30 am Saturday for the 156 mile trip. Frontiers to Send 80 Boys to Camp Rocky Pines
Fifty boys who cannot afford a week at summer camp will depart Sunday for Boy Scout Camp Rocky Pines. They will be hosted by the Miami Camp Frontiers committee with support from citizens and organizations. The group, led by Henry Ar ong and a committee including Taylor Hutcheon Kilatrick and Garth Reeves, aims to send 150 boys next summer. Dr N S Shirley arranged a free medical check and the fall program features supervised activities and competent counselors, with departure from Spic and Span Market on NW 27th Ave at 2 PM.

Negro Candidates for Office to be Named Mor
Grand Rapids, Mich. Samuel A. Johnson, 33, was held without charge in the bludgeon slaying of his 20 year old wife Shirley Johnson, an expectant mother. Police said she was struck twice with a blunt instrument. Johnson said he found his wife dead upon returning home after an overnight with a woman companion. A church meeting at 8 o'clock Monday will discuss registration and the final recommendation of the city election candidate. The meeting may nominate a popular young man to carry the ticket. all are invited.

Federal judge orders end to Miami bus segregation
