Mexico High Teacher Publishes So We Will Remember
Mrs. James Aston Fulkes, a Mexico High School French and English teacher, has published a poetry collection titled So We Will Remember from Dorrance and Co. The poems span humor, sorrow, faith, memory, and celebration of a blessed life, reflecting her career and personal journey. Born in Chattanooga and educated at SIU Carbondale, UT Chattanooga, and Missouri, she has contributed widely to magazines and publications. Her late husband, a Missouri Military Academy instructor, supported her work.

Indian Culture Topic At Thompson Toppers Meeting
Thompson Toppers Extension Club met Thursday at Mrs. Ray Jones home. Highlights of the Sunnydale trip were reviewed and Handi Shop sent an appreciation note. Senior citizen chair remains Mrs. Howard Smith through July with a Holiday Cookery program planned for December 2 at the courthouse from 7 to 9 p m. The Jolly Workers 4-H Club held a 32 member and 42 guest family basket dinner at the 4H Center. They voted a Christmas basket for a needy family and planned games for the party. Rod Nebel spoke on juvenile court proceedings and jail for offenders. The Indians program was led by Mrs. Pearl Northcutt with assist from several members. The next party will be planned by Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Hatcher and Mrs. William Gifford. Secret pal gifts were given to Mrs. Hatcher and Mrs. Motley. games won by Mrs. Kable sisters and Mrs. Davis. A December 12 note involved Mrs. Clifford Kable. Fruit baskets will be prepared for senior citizens.

Miss Dorothy Sannebeck donated many era artifacts to the Society enriching the collection with women s hats including a large black picture hat with silk trim a natural leghorn with ribbon streamers and a gold trimmed cloche with blue ostrich feather. Also added were a Tuscan straw hat a Sennit sailor hat shoes lace dresses scarves and handmade linens plus cowhide and black leather traveling bags. The museum thanks donors and notes more items remain to be catalogued. Mrs Charles Covington of Columbia joins as a new member. Hosts for the museum are Mr and Mrs Frank Wilfley Sr.
