Wheat Growers Could Sue Over Russian Deal in Spokane
Spokane, Wash. Wheat growers may sue the federal government over its five year grain export agreement with the Soviet Union. Jerry Rees of the Washington Association of Wheat Growers said a strong case is possible if the government acted illegally. He spoke at the state convention envisioning legal action after a December 17 lawyers’ meeting in Washington, D.C. The growers blame government interference for lower prices and urge export market support.
