Missouri General Assembly eyed for major reforms

A Missouri Citizens Advisory Committee proposed changes to modernize the General Assembly. The plan calls to cut the House from 163 to 125 members, raise the Senate from 34 to 35, reduce House committees and Senate committees, cap sessions at 125 legislative days, and begin an automatic veto session two weeks after the signing deadline. Two more subcommittees will study staffing and pay ahead of public hearings.
