Bond Urges His Vetoes Be Upheld in Missouri
Gov. Christopher S Bond urged legislators to uphold his vetoes during a brief veto session opening Wednesday in Jefferson City. He warned that without spending control a tax increase would follow, citing a $77.2 million balance on July 1 and projected declines through 1975. He proposes a 7 percent wage rise for state employees in 1975-76 to avert further deficits.

Drought May Take Minds Off Floods
The drought in the Midwest may push flood fears to the background. Richard W. Krimm, assistant administrator of the Federal Insurance Administration, said about 13,500 U S communities are flood prone and must join the federally subsidized program to access federal funds. He warned that officials often fear flood insurance, but floods will come. The program aims to insure future flood plain management and provide subsidized insurance, much cheaper than private markets, and to protect citizens while guiding growth.

50 Mile Float Includes Cleanup For Troop 38
Members of Troop 38 completed a 50 mile float on the Gasconade River in southern Missouri.
