Washington AP reports the House Ways and Means Committee backed a broad tax reform package that combines energy tax reforms. Key changes include raising standard deductions to 2500 and 1400, a tiered minimum tax, a lower capital gains rate for high earners, and accelerated phase out of depletion for oil. The panel says net annual revenue would rise about 500 million with some taxes up and others down.
